Mid Summer Update
Hi everyone, Jenna again with a quick update on behalf of my mom.
The first thing she wanted me to share is that she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Being in hospice for this long has brought a mix of emotions, but she’s thankful for the time she has with family and friends, and incredibly grateful for her nursing team.
For the most part, everything has stayed about the same since the last update. Her appetite has decreased and she’s continued to experience more mobility changes on the right side of her body though it hasn’t changed her day-to-day too much.
She continues to enjoy her visitors because they really help break up the day. Her ideal is still one to two visits a day, especially if they’re spread throughout the day. Since talking continues to take more effort, she appreciates when people stop by, share stories, catch her up on life, and do most of the talking (luckily, she has no shortage of chatty friends). Around 30 minutes is still the sweet spot. And while she has loved all the ice cream and treats over the past couple of months, she’s officially requesting a break. ☺️ If you’re planning to visit, she’d much rather hear what’s new in your life or look through recent photos you can share.
She’s still not able to use her phone because of the mobility changes, but we do our best to keep her updated. If you’d like, feel free to leave a funny story, family update, or even a photo in the comments. We’ll make sure to read them to her so she gets to see them.
As always, thank you for continuing to check in, visit, and think of her. We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather. My mom has been soaking up the sunshine whenever she gets the chance, whether that’s sunbathing or spending some time in the garden. 🌞
Best,
Jenna

Hello Jenna and Lisa! I will be in MN the first week of September and would love to get a chance to visit with Lisa! Please let me know the best way to go about getting on her schedule! Updates from the beach: it’s hot 🥵. we’ve been back in our *almost* finished house since right before Christmas. I quit my job. I’m bored outta my skull and hoping to land a new gig soon! More when I get that visit. 😜🥰💖
Hello Lisa and family. I love your title Lisa, the Joy Phenomenon. It is so fitting. Lisa you are a Joyful force and I’m so lucky our paths crossed through our kids at 6th grade orientation and I’m so grateful for all the wonderful discussions at book club. There are people in this world that show us how to embrace life and you have always been that for me. I just saw the musical “Wicked” and the song “For Good” reminded me of you
…. So much of me
Is made of what I learn from you
You’ll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories
end
I know you have rewritten mine
By being my friend…
…Because I knew you I’ve been changed for good!
With gratitude, Hugs, and prayers!
Amy
